Peer Meditation Can-do

Peer Meditation
I did Peer Meditation on Tuesday. It was a really cold day. We didn't have any Children come up to us, but I was walking near the junior classrooms and the sand pit area. I like it when the juniors come up to me with a problem, so that I can help them solve it. It was a quiet day on Tuesday, which is good in a way, because it means everyone is playing nicely and they are happy.

KAPA  HAKA
In Kapa Haka we learnt a new song. It's a good song and I like it.I'm not sure what it's called ,but it has the name Oakland in it. We've also been learning this song in our Te Reo class.

Cross Country at Roto Kohatu Reserve

I was the first race out of the year 7/8's. It was fun ,but i did not give up like some people did. I loved it. We ran 3 time around a  mapped out course, it was up hill, down hill and a lot of corners.So it was much more challenging then running at the Quarry. There were 40 in my race all from different school. I came in at 28th I was proud to come in 28th.The man that organised it told use that we were in the top ten% for the region  and it was the hardest rep team to get into ,but we can go to the training sessions, which i'm hopping to do. In Science we learned which is the biggest star in the Universe. The Biggest star in the  Universe is VY Canls Majoris(Red Hypergiant) Largest Known star. This star has a Diameter of about 2.800.000.000 km. How can you imagine this star.
Think of a passenger airplane flying alone the surface of this star at 900km/h. It would take 1100 years to circle it one time!!!!. If you don't believe me, watch this video......


 

Principal Award

Principal's Award

Today at whole school assembly Mrs Trotter was handing out Principal Awards. I was one of the children that got one and I got it for Placing 5th in the year 7 Girls at Canterbury Cross Country. I was really proud for getting it and when there is a junior cross country I would love to be a leader, to encourage for the juniors to participate in it. My first ever win for cross country was in year 2, so I know what it's like to take part in cross country at a young age.

Being Helpful (Must-Do)

Being helpful

Today after sausage sizzle Meadow, Samantha W and I helped Alys with the tidying up. We helped by putting away the two tables under the stage and the three big pots as well in a different place under the stage. When we had done that we went into the kitchen where all the parents had been selling the juices. The parents gave us two big containers witch we also put away under the stage they were the containers that they used to put the bread into. The last thing we did was to lock up the stage with a padlock.

Koru Games

On Wednesday it is Koru games practices. The sports are Netball, Basketball, Touch Rugby and Soccer. The sport i'm in is Touch Rugby and i'm in the A team our couch is Alys and we have 10 in our team. In September we go to Lincoln to play against other teams from different schools.

Canterbury Cross Country

                                            Canterbury Cross Country!!!!!!!

On Wednesday 10th June'2015. I went to the Canterbury Cross Country Championship's. My number was 644. I got 5th out of 117 and my time was 00:12:44 for a 3km run.











The map on the left is the run I did and the map on the right is where I am going next to compete against the intermediates.

Jack Mitchell is also going too.

  

Technology

Technology 
Today year 7/8's went to Lincoln primary school to do Technology. I moved on to Science and we got to chew 6 different gums.The six flavours we P.K, Juicy fruit, Air waves, Extra whitening, Extra Raspberry and 5( It is a gum). I enjoyed my first time in Science, I'm not usually allowed to have gum, so it was a really fun experiment to find out which flavour lasted the longest.

Must-do Activity

NETBALL

I look forward to going to Hagley park to play a game of Netball as one of my must-do activities. I was really disappointed that it was cancelled today. Hopefully I will be able to play next week with my team.

Choir

Today in Choir we sang Money Money Money and Hallelujah. For Hallejah we sang the second part in Maori. I enjoy singing both of these songs.
 

Homework Challenge

     Librarian

   Today I did Librarian with Monique and Sharna. In the library  when we arrive we get to put the books away so people  can find the books. When we put the books away they have a label  on the side it will have e.g M D L so you will find the M's and find  D L. There was a lot of Children  that came to the library to read and find new books at lunch time. When it is a rainy day it is a nice area  to come and read books. Today Miss Ward was there listening to oak FM and the children were listening too.
